Welcome to Faces By Debbie! By booking our services, you agree to the following terms. Please read them — they're written plainly so everyone knows what to expect.
1. Service Agreement
When you book with Faces By Debbie, you're entering into a service agreement with us. Submitting a booking form, paying a deposit, or confirming a booking via email constitutes your acceptance of these terms.
These terms apply to all services we provide, including face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon twisting, and any add-on services offered at the time of booking.
2. Booking & Cancellation Policy
Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. The deposit amount will be stated at the time of booking and applied toward your total.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel, please let us know at least 48 hours before your event. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice forfeit the deposit. Cancellations made 7 or more days in advance may be rescheduled at no additional charge (subject to availability).
Rescheduling: We're happy to work with you if plans change. Rescheduling is subject to artist availability and must be requested at least 48 hours before the original event date.
Artist cancellations: In the rare event that we must cancel due to illness or emergency, we will notify you as soon as possible and provide a full refund of all payments made, or arrange a replacement artist where possible.
3. Safety & Allergies
We use professional, hypoallergenic, FDA-compliant face paints that are specifically formulated for skin use. However, individual sensitivities vary and we cannot guarantee that our products are suitable for all skin types.
Your responsibility: You must inform us of any known allergies, skin conditions, or sensitivities before the event. This includes latex allergies, eczema, psoriasis, open wounds, or any recent skin treatments.
Children: Parents and guardians are responsible for disclosing any known allergies or sensitivities for children in their care. We will not paint anyone who appears to have an active skin irritation or contagious condition (such as impetigo or pink eye) — this is for everyone's safety.
Patch test: If you're unsure about sensitivities, request a patch test at the start of the event. We're happy to do this.
4. Payment Terms
The remaining balance (after deposit) is due on the day of the event, before or at the start of service. We accept Interac e-Transfer and cash.
Quotes provided at booking are valid for 30 days. Prices are subject to change for future bookings.
5. Liability Limitation
Faces By Debbie takes every precaution to ensure safe, enjoyable service. However:
- We are not liable for allergic reactions that occur when known allergies were not disclosed to us prior to service.
- We are not liable for skin reactions in individuals with pre-existing conditions that were not disclosed.
- We are not responsible for damage to clothing or property that may result from face paint transfer.
- Our total liability in any case shall not exceed the total amount paid for the service.
6. Photo & Media Release
We may photograph or video our face painting work at your event for use in our portfolio, website, and social media. We will never identify individuals by name without explicit permission.
If you prefer that we not photograph at your event, please let us know at the time of booking and we will respect your wishes completely.
7. Service Area
We primarily serve Burlington and the surrounding Halton Region, including Oakville, Milton, and Hamilton. We also travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area for an additional travel fee, which will be quoted at the time of booking.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
